ADAM MILTON-BARKER: INTEL SOFTWARE INNOVATOR, A.I., IOT, WEB & APP DEVELOPMENT
Adam Milton-Barker: Computer Science
Computer & Data Science Courses Taken.
As a totally self taught developer with many years of development under my belt and many applications and systems developed, there was still a lot to the world of computer science that I was not aware of or knew about. In 2015 I decided to take my first education in computer science and enrolled in some of the most popular moocs available including Computer Science courses by Harvard, MIT and Columbia Universities.
Harvard CS50x: Introduction To Computer Science
During 2015 I began to further my education by taking Harvard CS50x, An Introduction To Computer Science, an online course provided through Harvard to teach computer science and programming using the C language. For my final project for CS50x I developed an extension for the original CS50Helpers website which is the place for students taking the CS50 courses to find help and support. I successfully completed the course and passed with 100%, soon later I was asked by CS50x Teaching Assisant and now close friend, Luigi Morelli, to redevelop the original CS50Helpers website which is a massive honor that I am very proud of. Due to my work load over the last year or so it has been very hard to get time to complete this task but I am looking forward to getting the new site online and active.
MITx 6.00.1x Introduction to Computer Science & Programming Using Python
In 2015 I enrolled in MITx 6.00.1x, Introduction to Computer Science. I passed this course with 95% and received a Verified Certificate of Achievement.
MITx 6.00.2x Introduction to Computational Thinking and Data Science
In 2015 I also enrolled in MITx 6.00.2x, Introduction to Computational Thinking and Data Science. I had a lot going on during this course which meant I could not pay my full attention on the course. I passed this course with 55% and received a Verified Certificate of Achievement.
Community Teaching Assistant
In addition to taking the above MITx courses, I was selected as Community Teaching Assistant for both of the courses with the responsibilities of assisting other students with issues they may be having and running the official Facebook Groups.
